The first stop of your Bulgaria road trip will be the house of the famous Baba Vanga, the “Bulgarian Nostradamus” located in Rupite. Many went before you, including several Head of States to consult her during her life. Feel the energy in the Church and Temple Park. Visit her lovely, movingly small and modest house where she received her visitors.
- Drive 31 km to Rozhen Monastery
After you feel the spirit of the baba Vanga house the self drive audio guided tour from Sofia will continue to the Monastery of Rozhen. The peaceful retreat lies tranquil in the middle of nature, hidden between the incredible Earth Pyramids. Drive around 15 min and you will have time to have a walk in the “Bulgarian wine capital”. Melnik has a long history, with currently only 300 official inhabitants, while a century ago more than 10,000 people were living here. Known for the wine and exquisite restaurants, Melnik is also an architectural monument and the Melnik Earth Pyramids are certainly an incredible natural phenomenon which you don’t have to miss during your self guided tour from Sofia.
