• Drive 7 km to the Fortress at Cape Atanas

The first stop on our self guided day trip is the ancient fortress at cape St. Atanas which is among the most interesting archaeological sites on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast with a magnificent view of a sea bay.

• Drive 56 km to Varna

The second place you will visit during the self drive road trip in Bulgaria is Varna, the Sea Capital Of Bulgaria, origins back to almost five millennia, but it wasn’t until the Greeks founded a colony here in 585 BC that the town became a port. The modern city is both a port and a riviera town. It is a cosmopolitan place with nice baroque, turn-of-the-century and contemporary architecture, pleasantly blended with promenades and a handsome seaside garden. • Drive 42 km to the Historical Park

Visit what, according to Bulgarians, is the largest and first historical, cultural and recreational-educational park of its kind in the world. Designed as a large-scale complex that expands in its completed form over 50 hectares, an interactive journey to 10,000 years of time during the five eras of human civilizations. Through various interactive educational formats, the park offers an experience of ancient and millennia-old cultures.

• Drive 18 km to the Stone Forest “Pobiti Kamani”

The phenomenon “Stone Forest” or “Pobiti Kamani” freely translates as “stones that have been smashed into the ground”. Large and small limestone pillars up to 10 m high are located in the vicinity of Lake Beloslavia. According to archaeologists, there is only one place in Bulgaria where evidence of human life was found back to the end of the last “Ice Age”.

After the day spent around the North Bulgarian sea coast you will drive back to your accommodation where you will return the car.
